Frequently Asked Questions

What is AbPID?

AbPID is a new human identification technology based on an historically proven science called Antibody Profiling (AbP). IDS and the INL developed this proprietary test which reveals each individual’s unique, one-of-a-kind antibody profile.

Which biological fluids work with AbPID?

AbPID works on blood serum and dried blood, delivering results in just two hours. Other AbPID tests using saliva,  semen and perspiration are in development.

How long does it take the test to provide accurate, reliable results?

With blood, whether serum, whole or stains, AbPID tests take up to two hours for results. Semen, saliva and perspiration tests, now in development, will take less than five hours.

How large an evidence sample is required to run an AbPID test?

Only ten micro-liters of evidence is required for each test.

How does AbPID work as a presumptive test for DNA?

AbPID tests can be performed to determine which suspects and evidence warrant DNA testing.

By running AbPID tests on all suspicious blood evidence as soon as it is collected, it can be determined what evidence warrants DNA testing, saving invaluable investigative time and effort.

How does AbPIMAGE make AbPID more useful?

AbPIMAGE is a proprietary software program of Identity Sciences, LLC. It is an imaging program that digitally analyzes, archives and references AbPID profiles.
